Take your venture, and your expertise, to the doctoral level with ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ and Global Silicon Valley (GSV). In the GSV DBA specialization in Entrepreneurship and Venture Growth, you move beyond writing a business plan to mastering the full arc of venture creation including: identifying high-potential opportunities, validating them with evidence, financing them from both founder and investor perspectives, and leading them through rapid growth. The program culminates in an advanced Applied Project — a doctoral-level venture strategy you build, defend, and can take directly to market.

The specialization is offered in conjunction with , a growth investment platform devoted to finding the "stars of tomorrow." Throughout the program you engage with GSV's frameworks, feedback, and network of investors and entrepreneurs.

As with all ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ programs, every course is taught from a Christian worldview. You are challenged to think critically about who God is, and who you are, as we equip you to build ventures that glorify God and bless the world.

The DBA is a doctorate built for executives and founders. In this specialization, you replace the traditional dissertation with an Applied Project — original, rigorous work aimed at a real venture rather than a library shelf.

You evaluate ventures the way capital does: unit economics, valuation, dilution, runway, and growth metrics — then defend your strategy at a doctoral standard.

No — and that's the point. Students in this specialization are required to choose the Applied Project as their capstone. It carries the same doctoral rigor as a dissertation, aimed at a venture rather than a journal.

No. Some students arrive with a venture in progress; others develop their venture thesis inside BUS 701. Pivoting is part of the discipline; course Business 702 exists precisely to test whether an idea deserves to survive.

You learn alongside a Silicon Valley growth investor. Michael Moe, GSV team members, and ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ doctoral faculty engage with students, and GSV opens doors to its network of premier investors and entrepreneurs.

ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ doctoral faculty with expertise in strategy, finance, and entrepreneurship — many of whom have founded and operated businesses themselves. The specialization extends the GSV / Michael Moe model already established in ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ's Forbes-recognized GSV MBA in Entrepreneurship.

You do. Anything you develop during the program is yours alone, and we help ensure proper protections (such as NDAs) are in place as your venture matures.

No. But you will finish with an investor-grade venture strategy (and opportunities to connect with investors through the GSV network).

To be admitted to the DBA program, you must have earned a master's degree (preferably an MBA) from a regionally-accredited college/university with an overall GPA of 3.4 or higher. Applicants with a GPA of 3.0 - 3.39 may be accepted with additional documentation. Applicants with a GPA below a 3.0 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

This program has a Dissertation Fee of $650. The $650 Dissertation Fee covers the instructional, supervisory, and administrative resources required to guide students through the dissertation process. This includes faculty mentoring, committee review, academic evaluation, and processing of all dissertation materials from proposal to completion.
