ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ

Education

• B.S., Mississippi College
• Ph.D., University of Georgia

Dr. D. Brandon Magers joined the ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ faculty in 2019 as an Associate Professor of Chemistry. Dr. Magers received his Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry from the University of Georgia in 2014. After UGA, he served as an Assistant Professor of Chemistry on the faculty at Taylor University in Indiana.  In 2022, Dr. Magers was named the Faculty Fellow of Instructional Technology to serve colleagues on campus with best practices for utilizing educational technology in and outside the classroom.  In 2023, Dr. Magers earned Full Professor rank at ÌÇÐÄÊÓƵ and serves as Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Physics.

Dr. Magers is particularly interested in undergraduate research and mentorship. He manages an active research group of undergraduate students that present original work at the local, regional, and national levels. Dr. Magers also serves as an officer for the Mississippi Local Section of the American Chemical Society serving chemists in central Mississippi.
